This is One of the most commonly known medicinal plants growing wildly in Palestine. For centuries, locals have been using this herb to relieve pains, clear flatulence, heal wounds, and to treat eye complaints and urine retention. This perennial bushy 20-50 cm plant has hairy sticky stem and leafs resistance to all animals , pets, bugs, and insects due to its strong aroma. The plant has a very unique complex smell of menthol, sage, and rosemary. Serval modern studies have shown that Varthemia iphionoides several health-promoting properties, including antibacterial, antioxidant, anticancer activities, and anti-inflammatory. There are several ways for using this herb either for medicinal uses or as a refreshing drink. Most locals soak the herb overnight in the refrigerator.
